Put on the armor!

Armour of God. What is it? Why do we need it?Study the following verses from Ephesians 6:10-17 (KJV); 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.[Be strong in who's power and might? Not some man! Where do you get that power and might? God tells you where to acquire it. See verse 17 below.] 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [See Revelation 12:9].[How much armour will you need to stand against the devil? All of it. Not just a verse here and there.]12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.[Spiritual, not physical wrestling. Where is Satan right now? What part of His body does He fight with? See Revelation 1:16.] 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.[You can't stand against evil without the whole armour of God. You can't do it by yourself, or with just a little of the armour. Plain and simple.]14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;[You can make a stand, if you know the truth of Gods word, and act correctly according to that word.]15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;[we must be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16]16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.[Faith is most important. How many fiery darts of Satan can you quench with true faith? Not just some, but all.]17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:[God will cover and protect your head with His salvation, and arm you with the Holy Spirit, and His word. Gods whole armor is quite sufficient.] See Psalm 140:7 also. Faith, truth, righteousness [good works], peace, salvation, sword of the Holy Spirit [Word of God]. Study the Word of God daily. That is the armor of God you put on. See Isaiah 59:17 also. You train an army to fight, not run away at the first sign of trouble. Spiritual battles are what we should be training for today, not physical battles. You must have on God's armor to be trained properly for those spiritual battles. Again, what is the sword of the spirit in verse 17? The word of God! Where do you find that word of God? The Bible, all of it. You probably won't be able to hear it all where you think you should. Why? Read Amos 8:11-12. Also, the gospel armour does not include a pair of wings to fly away with as many teach (rapture theory). We are commanded to study God’s word. Sadly, only a few actually know this and follow His command. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
