Ill-gotten gains. Benefits obtained in an evil manner or by dishonest means, as in, they duped and scammed their senile uncle into leaving them a fortune and are now enjoying their ill-gotten gains. This includes stolen elections (Nov. 2020) and corrupt politicians that become rich (multi-millionaires) on a politicians salary. Only KJV Bible verses used. Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight. (This is one way to acquire ill-gotten gains. It is called cheating. See Leviticus 19:35-36; Proverbs 16:11, 20:10 and 20:23; Amos 8:5; and Micah 6:11 also).Proverbs 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. Matthew 19:21 "Jesus said unto him, "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me."Keep in mind that this is exactly what the disciples had done when they made their total commitment to follow Christ. Some gave up commercial businesses, fishing, tax collection, etc.. Jesus saw the heart of this young man that came to Him, and though the young man tried to keep all the laws, he didn’t (see Romans 3:23). Jesus is telling him that he must turn his full attention to believing in and serving almighty God; the only way to eternal life. Remember what is addressed here, the subject is attaining eternal life by keeping the law (see Romans 3:20). That is impossible for natural man, for all are born in sin, and with a sin nature. This man had many earthly gains (see Matthew 19:22 next), and much of it could be ill-gotten gains. This isn't to say that all gains are ill-gotten, and when you do things God's way, He blesses those that do. Those earthly gains are derived from heaven, for they are given to you by God for obeying Him. There is absolutely nothing wrong with gains from God's blessings.Matthew 19:22 "But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions."The tenth commandment is what got this wealthy young man. See Exodus 20:17. Ask yourself, why did he feel sorrowful? It is obvious to me he thought more of his wealth than serving God.Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (The term, "the eye of the needle" is in reference to a small door that is in the gate of a walled city, and this is the only door that is allowed to be opened after dark. This small gate can be easily guarded by one or two men keeping the city safe at night. For a camel to pass through the gate and enter the city at night, the camel must be completely unloaded, then coaxed through crawling on his knees. This illustration from that period of time, let’s the rich man know he must first unload his wealth [ill-gotten gains], if he wants to enter the kingdom of God). Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Treasures= earthly wealth such as money, land, possessions, fame, etc.. Don't let your heart or mind think your salvation depends upon your wealth; you can't buy your way into heaven. In many cases, earthly wealth can bring more trouble than it’s worth; especially when it is ill-gotten. Jesus tells us that it is so hard for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God because of where their heart is (see Matthew 6:21 below). A true Christian can be content with having food, clothing, and a roof over their head. (1 Timothy 6:8). Most who are rich in wealth fall into the temptations of this world sooner or later. (1 Timothy 6:9). Why? Because the love of money is the root of all evil, and many have turned from the faith because of it. (1 Timothy 6:10, 1 John 2:15-16). Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. False balance as used today!Leviticus 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.Deuteronomy 25:13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.Deuteronomy 25:14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.Deuteronomy 25:15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.Deuteronomy 25:16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. An example of a “False balance” is a media bias in which journalists present an issue as being more balanced between opposing viewpoints than the evidence supports. Journalists may present evidence and arguments out of proportion to the actual evidence for each side, or may omit information that would establish one side's claims as baseless. This is called a double standard also; it is very evident today (2022/2023). It occurs in many walks of life to include politics, business, racial issues, etc. Some politicians are guilty of this as well. They investigate some but not others; they apply the law in an unfair, unbalanced manner. Read Matthew 7:2 again very carefully.ABOMINA'TION: Extreme hatred; detestation; The object of detestation, a common signification in scripture; Hence, defilement, pollution, in a physical sense, or evil doctrines and practices, which are moral defilements, idols and idolatry, are called abominations.Double standard: a rule or principle which is unfairly applied in different ways to different people or groups.Scales of justice: the scales represent the weighing of evidence and are balanced to portray that the evidence should stand on its own.It is apparent that some do not apply the evidence in a fair and balanced manner. Some evidence is fabricated or is distorted to achieve a certain outcome; that would be considered a false balance/double standard and bearing false witness. It is deceitful and considered to be an abomination to God (He hates it).2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:If you study the above comments and bible verses you will learn that this sort of action is hated (it is an abomination) to our heavenly Father; not a good place to be in regardless of how you apply that false balance/double standard. We see it in business, politics, law, racial issues, access to education, etc., etc.; the list goes on and on. I feel we humans need to take a closer look at how we do things and try to make sure we don’t apply a false balance/double standard on someone else.Judgment day is coming. Continue to study your bibles as completely as possible.
