Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. [It is very easy to understand this verse; look out false teachers! All verses come from the KJV Bible].Jeremiah 23:2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. [False teachers drive people away from God. Those false teachers get what they deserve according to their own doings].Jeremiah 23:21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. [God did not send many of those that call themselves prophets, preachers, teachers, men of God, etc. then or now].Jeremiah chapter 23 and Ezekiel chapter 13 are so important. Both of these chapters demonstrate God's feelings towards those that mislead others through false teachings; it couldn't be more clear!1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? [Where does judgment begin? Far too many so-called Pastors and so-called prophets are totally unaware of where God’s judgment begins and why it begins there; that is truly sad].Check out the definitions of the words “pastors” and “prophets” in a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, for yourself. “God did not send them”. If God did not send them, then who did?False prophets shall rise, not maybe rise, shall rise! Jesus is describing what it will be like here on earth just before His return. There are many verses on this subject in the Old testament and the New testament. Here are a few of those verses.Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.Ezekiel 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.Ezekiel 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.Ezekiel 22:27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.Ezekiel 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. It is apparent that you do not want to be someone that teaches or prophesies falsely. The only way to be sure is to teach or prophesy Gods word “only” and do not teach or prophesy your own vain thoughts or the traditions and commandments of men. How do you tell if you are teaching or prophesying falsely? It is really quite easy; teach or prophesy God's word only. Try the spirits as we are commanded to do in 1 John 4:1. Don't place your trust in anything except God and His word. Jeremiah 17:5 and 7 spell this out for us. To know and to be able to teach God’s word properly you have to actually study God’s word as we are commanded to do in 2 Timothy 2:15. Again, sadly, most so-called Pastors plus church attendees are totally unaware we are given such a command. Eliminate the possibility of being deceived by studying God’s word cover to cover, book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. You will learn things that you will never hear while sitting in a church pew. Why is that so? Read the following verses and paragraph for your answer.Amos 8:11 (KJV) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:Amos 8:12 (KJV) And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. Have you witnessed any signs of this famine? Do you hear all 31,102 verses of God's Word where you go on Sundays? More than likely not, thus, the famine. You'll not likely hear enough to feed your spirit; it will starve. How can you know the word of God yourself if you trust others to spoon feed it to you a couple of verses at a time? You'll only be fed what they want you to know; just like news outlets of today. Think about that! Are you satisfied with that? If not, study the Bible yourself, completely, and don't allow yourself to be in the group that knows so little about God's word. Psalm 63:1, 119:131; Ezekiel 36:29-30 [when you study all of God's Word, there is no famine, Daniel 12:4; see 2 Timothy 2:15]. Seek Him: Jeremiah 29:13; Amos 5:4; Matthew 7:7; Luke 11:9. What happens to those who don't seek Him? The opposite, they don't find Him.
